Scolari

And apart from Van Basten's own failings do not forget also who he was up against. Portugal's coach Scolari is a shrewd man, a winner.

Is he not famous in Brazil for his notion that the team that fouls the most wins the most?

My concern is that Scolari will also outwit Eriksson when Portugal meet England...unless of course Eriksson outwits himself in the same way the inexperienced Van Basten did with the Van Nistelrooy decision...

(From my post to Roger Cohen's IHT Blog post: Dutch Debacle)

Yes he does.

Someone has to find a way to beat Scolari and still maintain their integrity, in the same way that Rijkaard found a way to beat Mourinho.

While Scolari's approach is terrible, Van Basten has proven to be up to this point naive and inexperienced...
