Beautiful Argentina ?

A very nice analysis. (Argentina more impressive at weigh-in for Heavyweight Clash)

As for Riquelme, I think he really is as good as some people say.

The team is shaping up to be like a piece of fine art.

If they don't win, they will for me be like the Dutch of the early seventies: unfullfilled beauty.

A ghost.

But that can happen in football as we all know. The intricately constructed Argentina shouldn't lose to a German team running on fumes. But it's a one-off and anything can happen.

I am not an Argentina fan per se. But I sincerely hope that Chance or poor officiating doesn't get in the way of their destiny.

Having said all that, Argentina is love hate for me:

My goodness what a sublime strike from Maxi Rodrigues to beat Mexico.

But why did Mascherano have to hack the Dutch player's achilles at the centre line in the ninetieth minute of an iminent 0-0 draw?

I guess that beauty is not necessarily pure or good.

Beauty just is.
