Mourinho begins the process

Coach Mourinho continues to fascinate. He is asking UEFA for a "truce". So proactive. Like most brilliant managers and leaders he is able to anticipate. I believe that he is anticipating that UEFA, in the person of a referee or administrator, could do something (small or large) that could get in the way of Chelsea's ambitions for this season. A penalty that doesn't get called? Or a scheduling decison? Mourihno knows that winning is about the little things. And now he is acknowledging that it is better to befriend rather than attack the bureaucracy that controls some of the critical little things. I don't know how well this truce will work for him given how brutally honest he can be at times. Personally, I think that in his own strange way Mourinho is often right in his ideas, ie: the Barcleona manager approaching referee Frisk at the half-time, or Arsenal having a better schedule due to their chairman's position in UEFA. And I wonder if he will be able to keep his insights to himself when the pressure is on this season. Of course that is assuming that UEFA even acknowledges his strange request--through the media--for a truce. Yes, the coach is strange but fascinating. Every little thing he does is with a view to winning. People will say that Benetiz does not need to do what Mourinho does, that he has won the Champions League and done so with a normal style and with class. But we'll have to see how history judges both of these coaches. I like Benitez. But personally, I'd like to see him win the long battle of the Premiership the way Mourinho did. Mind you Mourinho clearly covets what Benitez currently holds and, with this new manouver, has begun the process...
