According to the BBC, Man United have rejected Real Madrid's offer for Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson is apparently insisting on 15 million pounds for the striker, comparing him in age and goals to Andriy Shevchenko.
I think that this is wise and fair. I think that if Ruud goes to Real or a team like AC Milan he will re-emerge as one of the top strikers in the world. And if that is the case he will be worth closer to the 30 million that Chelsea paid for Shevchenko than the 15 million they are currently demanding.
United need as much cash as they can get to get into the Serie A Shopping Spree but I think that on principal alone Ferguson is right. He wouldn't look to good if he undervalued Ruud and then the player returned to form.
