Italy's Anger

An interesting piece in the BBC that starts with a tribute to Zidane from his ex-Coach Lippi, ends with a real nugget of information about why the Italian team have succeeded in this World Cup.

It is all down to anger.

First defender Materazzi says this of Gattusso shutting down Zidane:

"We have players that can mark Zidane, like Gattuso...There's no need to charge him up, otherwise he is capable of splitting the world in two."

Then Captain Cannavaro says:

"We've accumulated a lot of anger after two major disappointments. We put that rage to good use on the pitch and you can see that at the World Cup - we are turning that anger into something positive."

Such emotion may make for a great final.
