I Owe a lot to the Club

Pavel Nedved, 33, has decided to stay with Juventus despite the team's demotion to Serie B due to match-fixing. Says Nedved in the BBC:

"I never doubted I would stay at Juventus. I don't lack offers, but my family and I are settled in Turin...I owe a lot to the club and the Agnelli family (who own the club), who have always been close to me."

So refreshing to hear such sentiments.

If enough Juve veterans stick around, the team could well overcome the 17 point deduction imposed on them and return to Serie A in 2007.

Still...hate to bring this up...but if I were 33 and had a happy family in a lovely northern Italian city like Turin, I'd be happy to take more Agnelli money to stay in town. What better way to ease one's self into retirement?

And...Turin is much more conveniently located to Prague than say...London (Nedved was a rumoured Tottenham target.), isn't it?

Wise move Pavel ;-)
