Wenger is not an idiot

I said this in response to a post on BigSoccer.com:

It bears repeating: "I don't think Wenger is an idiot."

In fact, he may be the best coach in the Premiership.

Let's face it, United earned the three points today despite the way that Arsenal carved them up in the first twenty. But that's football. I don't know Sir Alex but I don't imagine he focuses on "coaching". I think that he knows how to buy players, create a philosophy and "motivate" players. And to his credit he has bought some game-breakers, Rooney being his greatest purchase ever. Rooney will pay big dividends down the road but that won't make United a better coached or better playing club than Arsenal or any other. Imagine how devasting Rooney would have been if he'd somehow gone to Arsenal and had a system and players that play a more dynamic game...
